How to Apply to the Master’s Degree in Communications Engineering
The University of Pisa invites applications for admission to the Master of Science (MSc) in Communications Engineering for the academic year 2026–2027.
Application Period
Applications are open and must be submitted exclusively through the official application portal (deadline February 5, 2026).
An application fee of 30 euros is required.
Admission Requirements
Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Science (BSc) or equivalent first-cycle degree obtained after completing a three-year (minimum) course of study. The requested degree must include courses on subjects related to signal processing and fundamentals of telecommunications, comparable to those typically found in the background of a graduate in Communications Engineering (i.e., exams in signal and systems, random variables and processes, digital communications, networks, and fundamentals of electromagnetic propagation). Lack of any of the above exams makes an application not eligible. A strong background in mathematics is also required. Proficiency in related engineering subjects (e.g., electronics, computer engineering, or management) is also favorably considered. Please note that:
Students who expect to complete their BSc degree before the pre-enrollment deadline (as set by the Italian embassy or consulate in their country) are allowed to apply. Admission will be confirmed only upon successful graduation by that deadline.
The Evaluation Committee will assess each applicant’s degree solely based on its suitability for this MSc program.
Degrees awarded in non-EU countries will later undergo verification and recognition by the relevant Italian diplomatic authorities.
English language proficiency equivalent to level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is mandatory
